HdM is a university of applied science focused on the field of media. HdM is offering 14 bachelor and 6 master programs related to a broad variety of professional fields in the media and creative industry, including e.g. printing technology, media informatics, media management, journalism, information design etc. 140 professors are teaching around 4,800 students. Additionally, HdM is running several minor programs taught in English for incoming students from all over Europe and beyond. HdM is providing its students and teachers with up-to-date technology in all fields of media production, including e.g. offset printing lines, digital newsrooms, a games lab and a state-of-the-art television studio. As a media university, HdM is generally well experiecnced in designing and managing learning environments for media education. In particular, HdM has a special expertise in running multimedia newsrooms for educational purposes. The edit. Lab, HdM’s digital newsroom, is operating since 2008.
