Haaga-Helia is a strongly business- and internationalization-oriented University of Applied Sciences in Finland, with 11 000 students from approximately 100 nationalities. It has campuses in Helsinki, Porvoo, and Vierumäki. Haaga-Helia is also a Finnish pioneer in education exports. Pioneering and innovation through networks have been the cornerstones of Haaga-Helia’s operations from the very beginning.
In Journalism, Haaga-Helia offers both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. We work enthusiastically to reinvent practices by breaking down the barriers between working life and institutions of higher education. This is reflected not only in the opportunities provided by our studies and the high employment rate of our students, but also in our dynamic cooperation with companies and our ability to keep up with the times. We strive to enable change in individuals, businesses, and society as a whole. In 2016, Haaga-Helia’s Bachelor’s degree in Journalism won the Finnish Grand Prize for Journalism for its work to connect journalism training and industry in new, innovative ways. The programme has also been nominated for the award in 2019, 2022, and 2025.
